All About Jason McCoy

Jason McCoy is a country music singer/songwriter from Anten Mills, Ontario. Born in Barrie but later relocated to Camrose, Alberta and finally Anten Mills, Jason grew up with a love for country music and cowboy culture. He learned to play guitar at 7 years old and wrote his first ever song at 12. In the 1980’s Jason joined a band called Three Quarter Country, who frequently played shows in Barrie, Midland, Orillia and other towns in the area. Later, after performing at and winning a Barrie Talent Show, Jason was discovered by country music writer Henry McGuirk who would later become his manager. McGuirk arranged for Jason to head down to Nashville, TN to record his first album with fellow Canadian songwriter, producer and artist Ray Griff. This would lead to his signing with MCA Records in 1995. During his time a solo artist Jason racked up several hits singles, three of which peaked at number 1 on the Canadian Country charts with three also breaking into the top ten. Jason has been nominated for over 25 awards for his solo work and has one Gold Certified album under his belt.

In 2005 Jason McCoy formed as one third of the group The Road Hammers with whom he has been nominated for over eighteen awards of which include winning the 2006 Juno for Country Recording of the Year.
